Which digital camera would you recommend; Nikon or Cannon?
Kelsey
I was looking at the Cannon Rebel camera’s, but I’ve heard better things about the Nikon cameras? Any tips? Maybe model recommendations as well?
Do you have any words to share!

I dont know much about cameras but I have a Nikon and it is a great camera. Mine was $500 but it has amazing zoom power, 12.1 megapixels (the more pixels the better, most cameras have 7 or 8), a great amount of options, (unless you are looking to take very professional pictures, then you need a more expensive camera with more options), it’s also great for action shots and very durable.
I would definatly recommed Nikon.

i like the cannons but nikkons are almost the same
I’m assuming you’re looking at DSLRs because of your reference to the Canon Rebel. Anyway, you can’t really lose on either brand. I work with a Canon 5D, a Nikon D200 and Nikon D40. They are fantastic cameras inside and out. The Canon 5D and Nikon D200 are top-notch. If you’re going for budget DSLRs go for a Nikon D40/D40x/60 or a Canon Rebel XTi. Of course, the more expensive you go, the greater its resolution and processing speed for continuous shots - among other features like bracketing and others.
There is only one small, small advantage to having a Nikon. So small that it may seem insignificant depending on your photography goals and that is: Nikon lens mounts are all the same. That means you can attach a lens built in the 80’s to a current Nikon DSLR. Canon, not so much.
And a biased side-note: I’ve worked with the Canon XTi and wasn’t very impressed by the build quality. It’s strange because the Canon 5D is quite impressive. I like Nikon as a whole, personally. They make quality cameras from the D40 on up.
I have owned 35mm Canon’s for over 30 years and first started using them back in the early mid ’70s during my first photography classes in school. Never owned a 35 Nikon or Digital, I do own a Canon XTi and I chose it over a Nikon model in the same price range, my choice, my recommendation.
Okay, I’m going to put it straight out………Nikon……By far the cameras are better in almost every way. Lenses, camera build, color quality, and performance are usually better. The costs are comparative. If you are looking for a DSLR, and can afford a higher priced camera, I would suggest Nikon D200, D300, and up. The cameras are built with magnesium alloy, which make the frame more sturdy (not plastic). I’ve used both canon, and Nikon, and even used Fuji, Olympus and Sony. I’ve seen so many people get Canon because they know the name, and have used it for “30 years” and don’t want to switch. I’ve heard some say that canon may be a bit more user friendly, but from my experience I don’t think so, and I believe Nikon offers more options.
