What is the cheapest Nikon camera?

i want to get a nikon camera for my sister, but she wants one that costs like $1200, but my budget is $400. could i get a REAL nice one for that money, whats the cheapest and where do i get it from?
thanks, but i dont want to buy it online that camera was perfect ill pick you as best answer. but do you know where i could buy it in stores?

If you can pump up your budget to $450, you can by a D40 with 18-55 mm lens.
The D40 is available at Best Buy for a little under $500 with kit lens.
