It's a pretty good camera, but these photos are unrealistic for the average person. Seldom, if ever, does the amateur shooter spend $1500 on a prime Nikkor.

I didn't see any rare Nikon glass used in this video. BTW, in bright light an inexpensive kit lens can deliver very sharp results - especially stopped down to f8.

I own professional glass along with the D90/kit lens and D700. While the results are superb with my 300 2.8 VR or 70-200 2.8, I can still achieve outstanding quality with a $120 50 1.8.

Main advantages of the pro glass are the extra stop of light for stopping action, hand holding in low light, or subject isolation using f2.8.

Well, you're partially right... the advantages of having pro glass also includes better quality optical glass in general. Better build quality, more standard control than the mass produced versions.

Well JcWhatCounts20, with a 500 character limit, I wrote all I could fit, not all I know about pro glass. I certainly know much, much more being a pro shooter.

i don't know, i mean it is a possibility. but rahman would have worked on this somewhere mid last year, seeing that the movie was released in dec 08. whereas this video was released april this year?

i guess the only way to find out is if someone find's the original music.

Hoep for it the video aren't soft like with the D90. I suspect the movie mode creating hot pixel over time. I've just sent back for the second time my D90 for ridiculous huge amount of hot pixel. Low light picture look like chrismas tree.

The D5000 produces the same image quality as both D90 and D300 and that´s truly amazing! Most people don´t need more than 4 fps anyway, so either go for this camera or the D90 and get some high quality Nikkor glass instead. I´ve been trying out D700,D300 and the D90 and all cameras are of course amazing! It´s NIKON!

I don't know why people keep comparing this Camera to a $3,500+ 3 CCD Video Camera, like the Canon XH A1? The quality is awful and unless you want a simple DOF video shot, but good luck keeping the moving subject in focus. The video function, as a replacement to a high end Camcorder is just plain stupid! Plus it records mono sound, oh this is cool? Then you need to record onto an external recorder, to edit with any video. Summed Up: Good in low light, good DOF simple shots and..well thats all.
