Ok. The D-90 has movie mode and live view mode. so does the d5000. Same Sensor, but not top lcd display, they added more automated mode setting. low k dot screen resolution: which they fail to discuss., and to top it off they gave it a point and shoot feature by adding the swivel back lcd for portraits.

You cant compare this to the d90 at all. I would honestly compare this to the Sony A350 which is why i think they designed this piece of trash. To defeat all competition.!!

Only "LOWER" is not enough.Price for this must be in the middle between D40 and D90.Not even close to D90.Compare CANON EOS 500D, for 900$.15mpx and more detailed and cleared pictures.

A good camera for the novice with money to spend to introduce them to DSLR photography ... lots of bits but pricy - plastic body - not magnesium- not for the serious photographer though really imho - a good pub talk DSLR ... with loads of features -tilt screen should have been available to the D300 - that would make it perfect ... I'll stick with my trusty D200 thanks very much ...

DAMN IT, I should have seen this review before buying the 500D! man I bought it, then saw the reviews, i wasn't pleased with the 500D's results, man canon has disappointed me with this piece of shit, I'm glad Nikon made a better low noise iso, and a bit better image quality than the 500D, go D5000!

If canon comes with a "60D" they better make strong improvements, cause I'm only going to stick to nikon, I am a nikon and canon lover, but if it doesn't go the same as the D5000, better yet the D90 then hell I'm not getting it.

sorry i mean Nikon D5000 is much better at high ISO and LOW light! if you are confused between 500D and D5000. Clearly it is D5000.

It doesn't have a Built in motor for the focus, but the sensor as the D90 is the same so the focusing speed is great when viewing thru the viewfinder but the LV ( live view ) focus is kinda slower compared to the Canon 5D mark2 but that cam is :o 2699$
