How do you turn the flash off a Nikon camera?

My camera is a nikon coolpix 5600. It’s technically my dad’s, and he’s not home, so he can’t help me with this.

How can I turn the flash off? There’s too much light with the flash in my pictures.
We don’t have the directions…

That’s why I put this on Yahoo! Answers….

    Read the directions, or call the manufacturer.

    There is a button with a lightning bolt on it.

    Just use the button to select the flash off option

    Too much light usually means you are too close to the subject and so the image will be out of focus unless you choose the close up feature on the camera (a little flower)… with the close up feature picked, the flash should not be too strong.
