There are a lot of great photographers who are just starting out that charge way less in order to get jobs to add to their portfolio. I for one am one of those people. I have done many weddings even though I am not a professional YET. I am finishing up my photography degree but do weddings rather reasonable for this very reason. I do photo journalistic photography and have an eye for the little details. Because I am trying to build up a clientele my prices are lower. That doesn't mean my work is second rate!!!! I found my team that way and they are absoultely wonderful and do amazing work. I'm getting all day coverage with two photographers, all the images on a CD and a proof book with them all, editing and touchups for every photograph and a few prints....all for 1k. I still get responses from applicants some willing to do it as cheaply as a few hundred dollars. :) Post it under "gigs" not "jobs" and then the event category. Post an ad on Craigslist.
